Jakob's Fight for Sight

WE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!

Today is Wednesday August 20, 2008.  Today is the 100th day since this website began.  Today was our Jakob's Fight for Sight Charity Golf Tournament and Auction.  I have never been more moved, more overwhelmed,or more awed in my entire life.  We met our goal today.  We in fact surpassed our goal today.  I don't know how to thank all of you who donated $5 for a bracelet, or a moment of your time to pass this website on, or to all of those who came to our events and bid on our auction items.  I don't know how to thank all of those who donated their time, prizes, donations, or auction items, or those who let us use their businesses to promote such things.  Thank you will never ever be big enough words to show our appreciation to this community, or to the people all over this country for their overwhelming generosity and support.  I have been crying since my speech this afternoon, I can't hold it in anymore.  This is happening, we are going to China.  I believe that this treatment is going to work and all because although it took a lot of hard work, it also has come so easily.  We hit no snags along the way, every event ran smoothly and convinced me more and more that this was meant to be.  You have all had a hand in changing the medical world by giving my son this opportunity.  One day you or someone you know may benefit from the treatment he is receiving, and thanks to you all thousands of people have heard of Jake, thousands of people are praying for Jake.  Maybe when we get back we can start the real fight of making this possible for other people of many ages, with many disorders.  Please keep checking Jake's site from Oct 6- Nov 6 for updates on his progress under Jake's Journey here on the website.  We will be taking a video camera with us and a laptop so hopefully we can capture the first time Jake sees.  Thank you all so much from the depths of my heart and soul.

If you still wish to make donations I ask that you make them to the CNIB (Canadian Institute for the Blind)  They help people like Jakob everyday and provide therapists and support when families like us have no where else to turn.  They also accept donations of toys and books for their lending library.
